1300-500 p.n.e

UMORAN VOJNIK
Gola djevojčica, blijedo lišće palo s ograde,
Stoji na putu, ja prolazim.
Svi stoje tako u redu, jedan za drugim.
Što ja znam o svetim vodama
I o večernjem rumenilu sela?
Proboden sam s toliko noževa
I umoran od tolike smrti.
Dječje su oči kao zlatna kiša,
U njihovim rukama žari čaša vina.
Htio bih leći pod krošnju i spavati
I ne biti vojnik više.
